adjective thoughts

I took pictures before our class was told the exact criteria of this project, which is why my photos do not represent a particular adjective.  Most of these pictures were taken when I was at the Treasure Island Music Festival in October, and the last few are 'practice shots' as I was getting the hang of using my film camera for the first time.  All of the photos I chose to develop are posted below, and I feel as though I did well for my first manual shoot.  Though I would never bring a film camera with no zoom to a concert again, the pictures that turned out well, I feel, are more meaningful in black and white than they would have been in colour.
My favorite shot is the one of the ferris wheel because I like the contrast it presents as well as the mirrored reflection and good sense of place.  The photo of the girl with plastic bags in her feet is my least favorite because I took the picture without much thought towards composition.

The Unexpected Moment

Reflection Questions: The Unexpected Moment

1. Of the five photographs, which is the strongest?  Why?
The photo of the kid in orange, Cooper, is the picture that stands out to me the most.  It shows action and dimension as well as a good range of color.  I also like how the natural light is complimentary of the image and highlights Cooper's expression.

2. Which is the weakest?  Why?
I think the weakest is the one with the girl playing Scrabble, as it is a bit dark and feels slightly staged.
